Kinloss Friends of Israel - Lords & Dames

These are challenging times in politics. Fortunately, our community is blessed with some great friends and allies. Join Rabbi Lawrence in conversation with two true friends of Israel, Lord Eric Pickles and Dame Margaret Hodge.

Thursday 17th January at 8pm - The Rt Hon Lord Pickles
Lord Pickles was appointed UK Special Envoy for Post Holocaust issues and is the Lords Chairman of the Conservative Friends of Israel. Pickles works closely with the wide range of Holocaust academics, survivors and organisations in the UK and is the Joint Chairman of UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation. Lord Pickles was formerly MP and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

Thursday 14th March at 8pm - Rt Hon Dame Margaret Hodge MP
Margaret became the Labour Member of Parliament for Barking in June 1994. In 2010, she faced a challenge from the leader of the British National Party in the General Election of that year but was returned with a comfortable majority. Margaret has served in government, holding portfolios across education, work and pensions, business and culture. In 2010, she became the first elected Chair of the Public Accounts Committee and was also its first female Chair. In July 2018 she attracted tremendous publicity for attacking Jeremy Corbyn as ‘A Racist
and Anti-Semite’.
