Our Great Friends at Westminster

Thursday 13th June Rt Hon Stephen Crabb MP
Stephen Crabb is Parliamentary Chairman of Conservative Friends of Israel. Prior to being elected, Stephen was a marketing consultant and had previously worked in communications and policy roles. As a backbencher, Stephen served on the Welsh Affairs, International Development and Treasury Select Committees. In 2014 he was awarded Welsh Politician of the Year. In 2015, Stephen led the Welsh Conservative Party general election campaign which saw the best result for the Party in more than thirty years.

Thursday 11th July Luciana Berger MP
Luciana Berger has served as MP for Liverpool Wavertree since 2010. She was a member of the Labour Party until 2019, when she resigned to form The Independent Group with other MPs. She
served as a National Executive Committee member of the National Union of Students, but resigned to protest what she considered the committee’s apathy towards antisemitism. Berger also served as Director of Labour Friends of Israel. Appointed Labour candidate for Liverpool Wavertree, her selection attracted criticism for resulting from a centrally-imposed all-women
shortlist — she was then elected an MP in the 2010 general election. Luciana has criticised what she considered to be increasing antisemitism in the Labour Party and said that, under Corbyn, Labour contained “institutional anti-Semitism”.

Thursday 18th July Rt Hon Joan Ryan MP
Joan Ryan is Chair of the Labour Friends of Israel. Joan is the Member of Parliament for Enfield North. She regained the seat in the 2015 General Election, having previously served as the
representative for the constituency. She is a current member of the Speaker appointed Panel of Chairs in Parliament, chairing Public Bill Committees and Westminster Hall debates. Joan Ryan has been recently outspoken which resulted in her quitting Labour, citing party leader Jeremy Corbyn’s supposed “demonisation and delegitimisation” of Israel.
