Phyllis Nathan Trust

Who are we?

The “Phyllis Nathan Trust” (PNT) was set up over thirty years ago to give discreet financial help to people in the Kinloss community.

We work closely with the Kinloss Cares and Kinloss Welfare teams.

How do we help?

1. Grants, a one-off lump sum or regular monthly payments, which do not have to be repaid
2. Loans to those who need help, possibly with a short-term problem, which they may be required to try to repay over a timescale agreed with the Trustees
3. Provision of food vouchers for the “Kosher Outlet” (www.kosheroutlet.org)

How has PNT helped in the past?

1. Help to those struggling to pay monthly bills.
2. Help towards weekly shopping bills.
3. Payment towards Shul membership fees and the Funeral Expenses Scheme.
4. Help towards tuition fees for children with special educational needs.
5. Help towards care costs or special medical needs, e.g. a wheelchair, physiotherapy or speech therapy.
6. Help towards a young person going to summer camp.

The above list is not exhaustive but is an indication of the areas where we have assisted in the past.

How much help can you expect?

PNT is a small charity with relatively limited funds, but currently we have no lower or higher limit to the support given.

How to apply?

All applications to the Trustees are dealt with in the strictest confidence. They should be made in the first instance by writing directly to the Trustees c/o the Shul office or by speaking to Shimon or Rochelle on 020 8346 8551

How quickly will the Trustees respond?

Though the Trustees will often require further information to assess an application you may be assured that, in most cases, they are able to consult quickly amongst themselves and come to a decision. We can accept referrals on behalf of someone else but would need to speak to the recipient (or someone holding a power of attorney) before funds could be allocated.
