Chazan Eli Sufrin Rabbinic Team
Chazan Eli Sufrin leads the services in the Main Synagogue on Shabbat and Holy Days. He finds it particularly inspiring when the congregation sing along with him during the prayers. He has been leading services and leyning for over 35 years. Prior to joining the team at Kinloss in 2003, Chazan Eli held cantorial positions in Holland Road Synagogue, Brighton and Coventry Road Synagogue, Ilford. He has also been a guest Chazan in Synagogues both in the UK and abroad, and sings regularly at Chupahs.
Chazan Eli enjoys getting to know congregants while chatting at the Kiddush, and is always open to suggestions for new tunes to be added into services for special occasions. He has built connections with numerous Bar Mitzvah boys and their families over the years as he teaches them to leyn.
Chazan Eli grew up in Temple Fortune and lives with his wife Nechama, and children, in Hendon. When he is not singing or working, he enjoys spending time with Nechama, his children and grandchildren and playing a good game of Boggle or Scrabble.
