Rabbi Yisroel Fine Rabbinic Team
Rabbi Fine is part time at Kinloss to assist in the delivery of pastoral needs, Shabbat support and Shiurim.
Rabbi Yisroel Fine, who joined our Rabbinic Team last year, has been one of the longest serving US Rabbis. He served as Rabbi of Newcastle-Upon Tyne from 1974–1981, of Wembley Synagogue until 1986, and then of Cockfosters and N Southgate until 2014.
He founded the Wolfson Hillel Primary School in 1992 where he continues to be the Honorary Principal. He also established the Hadley Wood Jewish Community which now has a membership of over 150 families, and the Southgate Mikveh which was opened in 2011 by Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks.
Since retiring from Cockfosters Rabbi Fine has served in various Synagogues including St Johns Wood and Toras Chaim in Hendon. He serves as Jewish Chaplain to Barnet Hospital and also coordinates the appraisals for United Synagogue Rabbis.
Rabbi Fine was born in Swansea and grew up in Cardiff where his late father, Rev Meyer Fine, was Minister and Shochet. He received his Semicha from Gateshead Yeshiva, and studied in the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
Aside from being a spiritual leader, Rabbi Fine is also an avid cricket lover and is a member of the MCC.
His wife Judy is a psychotherapist in private practice and works for Chai Cancer. They have four married children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
